Award Presented at Employer Support Recognition Event in Washington, D.C.
San Diego, CA (August 22, 2012) — 5x Technology, a growing IT solutions provider, proudly announced today that CEO and a Lieutenant in the United States Naval Reserves, Jeffrey Yefsky, was honored by the Chief of Navy Reserve for his exceptional support and service to his country, as well as his company.
More than 40 civilian employers from across the nation were honored last week in Washington, D.C. by the Chief of Navy Reserve, Vice Admiral Robin R. Braun.
“These employers enable our Navy Reserve Sailors to serve America on a part-time basis and to be ready for full-time duty if called – and to return to work when their military service is complete,” said Vice Admiral Robin R. Braun, Chief of Navy Reserve. “This is our opportunity to say thank you for your support.”
“It is great to be honored not only as an employer, but second citizen. This award shows that even a small company can make a difference in our country,” Jeffrey Yefsky says. “5x Technology strives to create a work environment with patriotic benefits.”
Companies invited to this year’s event were nominated by their employees who are also Navy Reserve Sailors. Guests included CEOs, company owners and senior executives from small, medium and large companies, and Selected Reservists who are self-employed and exhibit the following attributes:
- Values the Reserve Sailor/employee and are highly supportive of his/her service, even when called to duty on short notice.
- Company leadership promotes a culture of pride and recognition and gets personally involved.
- Maintains contact with the Reserve Sailor and their family members if he/she is on duty for 30 days or more.
- Truly goes above and beyond to support their employees who also serve in the Navy Reserve.
“Many employers go above and beyond to support their Reserve employees with additional pay or family support when their Sailors are deployed,” stated Adm. Braun.
During their visit, the employers heard from top leaders at the Pentagon, including Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs, Jessica L. Wright and Under Secretary of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Juan M. Garcia III. Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Jonathan W. Greenert, hosted a reception and dinner onboard the historic Washington Navy Yard to conclude the day’s events.
“Employer support makes it possible for us to serve, and is worthy of our highest honor. We can never take this support for granted,” concluded Adm. Braun. “By supporting our Navy Reserve Sailors, our employers also serve.”
